GUNS FOUND

Police found a sub-machine gun and a quantity of ammunition during an exercise in Morvant.

According to a media release, Northeastern Division Task Force police led by Senior Supt Sagramsingh conducted the exercise between 4 pm on Thursday and 12 am on Friday.

Police got information which led them to Alexis Street, where here they saw a man holding a gun. When the man saw them, he dropped it and ran off. Although they did not catch the man, police seized the Mac 11 sub-machine gun.

Police also searched Small Street, Sawmill Avenue, Barataria, where they found a revolver with four rounds of .38 mm ammunition.
