Local artist Sandra Dopson’s artistic style varies with her mood. This changeability offers the viewer the option of work featuring intense strokes and an impressionistic style, or more serene, soft brushwork.

Dopson who has been painting professionally for over 25 years will reveal her latest work at Horizon Art Gallery. The self-taught artist is best known for her nostalgic scenes of quaint old houses, bamboo bordered lanes and quiet country roads. She is particularly interested in the dramatic effects of light and shadow in her work, which creates depth and contrast. She has a deep love for art, which is not just a form of expression for her, but also a form of release and therapy.
