Tobago police have arrested three Trini men in connection with the murder of murder suspect Dave Vincent. The ages of the suspects are 24, 28, and 34. Vincent’s body was discovered on Monday at 12.15 pm in a white car parked along Golden Grove Road in Buccoo. He was shot several times.

The engine of the vehicle was said to be running when the police arrived. Vincent is the ninth person in Tobago this year. Speaking at a police press briefing yesterday, Snr Supt Joanne Archie stated the three were held an hour after Vincent’s body was found. The three were held at various locations in the west of Tobago.

Vincent, 55, was originally from Thorne Street in San Fernando but moved to Tobago about three years ago and lived in Les Coteaux . “Vincent was a person of interest to the Homicide Investigations Bureau in Trinidad, with respect to a homicide that was under investigation. Actually, he was still a subject of that investigation and was also the subject of an investigation into a missing person,” Archie said.

She added that Vincent was called in for questioning on two occasions. “It was not like he was hiding out in Tobago. He was released and that investigation is still continuing. Both crimes occurred in 2014.” Archie said all nine murders committed in Tobago are still being investigated including a murder/suicide in Moriah.

Archie also warned the Tobago public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or call Crime Stoppers. “Do not let anyone come and interfere with the peace and serenity of your community,” Archie said. It was reported to Newsday that Vincent worked as a taxi driver in the sister-isle.
