Process server Mark Adams, who first reported to the police in 2016 that he was allegedly contracted by Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi to plant a bug in the office of UNC Senator Gerald Ramdeen, was interviewed twice last week by a team of investigators.

The investigation was transferred last week from the Port-of-Spain CID and given to Assistant Commissioner of Police Harikreshen Baldeo who assigned Sergeant Tricia Smith and other police to interview Adams who, on Monday and Thursday, provided a statement to the police.

He also surrendered his cell phone and copies of alleged text messages between himself and Al-Rawi. Adams is now in the process of providing a signed affidavit which he intends to make available to the police.

Yesterday Adams told Newsday he decided to go to the police in 2016 because he felt he was being asked to commit offences which he was not prepared to do.

He said he was contacted by a PNM activist who was the go-between between himself and Al-Rawi.

According to Adams, he first reported the matter to Inspector Harvey Jawahir of the Port-of-Spain CID and when he did not hear anything again about the matter, he returned recently to the CID and enquired from Corporal Seelal about the status of his report. Al-Rawi has since denied all the allegations levelled against him by Adams describing them as piper-gate.

Earlier this month, Adams said the transcripts of conversations read out in Parliament between himself and a government official was in fact a true recording of conversations and text messages between 2016 and 2017.

The alleged conversation transcripts were also released on social media
