Ramdin leads youthful Red Force four-day team

Wicket-keeper Denesh Ramdin will captain a 13-member Trinidad and Tobago Red Force squad in round one of the Cricket West Indies Professional Cricket League Regional Four-Day tournament, which bowls off next week.

Fast bowler Marlon Richards will be the team’s vice-captain. The Red Force will play Barbados Pride in a day/night fixture in the opening round at Kensington Oval in Barbados starting on Thursday. Red Force will return home for round two against Jamaica Scorpions at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy (BLCA) in Tarouba.

It will be the first time four-day cricket will be played at the BLCA. Red Force were scheuduled to play at the Queen’s Park Oval in St Clair in round two, round four and round seven, but Cricket West Indies approved the change and those matches will be played at the Tarouba venue.

A number of Red Force players who joined the team in the latter stages of last season have been included in the squad such as Tion Webster, Amir Jangoo and Akeal Cooper.
