CLUTCH basketball at Maloney

The Maloney Indoor Sports Arena will be humming with activity when the Stories of Success (SOS) Basketball Academy launches their CLUTCH Invitational tomorrow.

The SOS tournament organisers have decided on a two-day series this year, adding an under-21 division to the under-17. Each division will comprise four teams.

Teams will face each other in the group stage with semi-finals and finals to be played on Day Two of the series on Sunday,

Taking part will be Brian Chase Academy (under-21), Maloney Pacers (under-17 and under-21), Spartans (under-17), 500 Hawks (under-17 and under-21), along with hosts SOS (under-17 and under-21).

The two-day tournament has received the sanction of the National Basketball Federation of Trinidad and Tobago.

There will also be a feature of divisional skills contest, 3-point shootout, and a women’s exhibition game featuring teams competing in the Female Basketball Action Tournament.

Added to this, there will be cheer-leading displays by the Trinidad and Tobago Cheer Federation.

Action is timed to jump off at noon tomorrow following an opening ceremony at 11 am and continue until 5.30 pm. There are 12 games scheduled.

Day Two, Sunday, will also begin at noon with with an under-17 semi-final. The day will end at 5 pm with the presentation of prizes.
