Police have reported a break-in at the clothing boutique of chutney soca diva Nisha Bissambhar at Southern Main Road, Cunupia.
According to police, Bissembhar - a singer of the band Karma - discovered her store, the Dollhouse by Nisha B, broken into yesterday morning.
In a post on her Facebook page, Bissambhar thanked the Cunupia police for their swift response and called on anyone who has information into the break-in to contact her or the police.
She said today is her birthday but instead of preparing for and celebrating Divali, she was trying to come to terms “with some losers”, who broke into her store and stole most of her new stocks.
“My pieces were unique items, some customised,” she said. Bissambhar also said they were presently reviewing CCTV footage of the store. “I’m really shocked and sad but what can I do? I’m just another victim,” she lamented.
According to police, the front door of the boutique was broken and the burglar proofing ripped apart.
A quantity of shoes, clothing and accessories were missing, including items from top designers such as, Michael Kors, Guess, and Armani Express.
Investigations are continuing.
