Judo Grand Master Brown dies at 66

Grand Master Dr Wayne Brown, a former national judoka, passed away at his home at Carlton Street, San Fernando on Saturday morning, at the age of 66.

Brown was a top performer during the 1960s and 1970s, winning numerous titles both locally and regionally, and also served as the team doctor for various national judo teams for a number of years.

He was inducted into the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame, as well as the United States Head of Family Martial Arts Association International Hall of Honour, for his services to the sport of judo.

Brown was a member of the Black Hawks Martial Arts club and a practicing acupuncture physician.

According to his son Dwayne, his funeral will take place at their home on Friday, from 2 pm, followed by a cremation service at JE Guide Funeral Home and Crematorium in San Fernando.
