Murder in Maloney

A 20-YEAR-OLD man lost a two-day battle for his life at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope, after he was shot several times at his home in Maloney.

Kaazim Burke was standing in the hallway of his home in Building 19, Maloney Gardens when at about 9.30 pm on Tuesday, a masked man approached and shot him several times before fleeing. Residents who heard the gunshots, later took Burke to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and warded.

However, he died at hospital yesterday. His body was removed to the Forensic Science Centre in St James for an autopsy. No arrest has been made and investigations are continuing.
