Truth about TT campaign

THE EDITOR: How easily we are distracted from the truth that stares us in the face. I am very happy for the TT footballers for beating the US. However, that does not take away from the fact that we were not even competitive in “The Hex.”

What the game against the US shows glaringly and in neon lights is the mismanagement of the entire campaign by David John Williams and his hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil board of directors. So much so that we have reached a point where failure is applauded, even celebrated. Just watch DJW’s response after winning two games and drawing one. Six points away from our closest rival the US, which also did not qualify. With a goal difference of 19.

Yes, we won an important game, but it came on the back of no pressure and should in no way be allowed to cover up the gross incompetence of the TTFA.
