Woman, man for court

A woman and man are to appear in the Rio Claro Magistrates’ court today for the September 27 murder of Larry Gomez, 27, who was killed at his Ecclesville, Rio Claro home.

The charge of murder was laid against the two at 5 pm on Saturday, both having been detained since the killing. Gomez was asleep with his wife at their home when at about 2.10 am, they were awakened by three masked men inside the house. Gomez was struck on the head and his throat slit.

The killers ransacked the house and stole a quantity of household items. An AD Wagon belonging to Gomez was later found abandoned a short distance away from his home. A woman who knew Gomez was detained along with a man. Last Friday, invesitgators sought advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the charge of murder was laid.
