Presentation Sando maintain lead in SSFL

Presentation College San Fernando remained atop the points table in the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Premier Division with a 2-1 win over Queen's Royal College (QRC) at Guaracara Park in Pointe-a-Pierre, yesterday.

Presentation scored two free kicks in the 71st and 73rd minutes to come from behind to claim the win. Jordan Riley scored first for Presentation, before Darnell Hospedales found the winner two minutes later. Miguel Williams gave QRC the lead in the 39th minute. Pres maintained their two-point lead at the top of the standings.

Naparima jumped from third to second on the standings with a 2-0 victory over Signal Hill in Tobago. Ronaldo McIntosh got a brace for Naparima scoring in the 23rd and 35th minutes of play.

In a top clash at the St Anthony's College Ground in Westmoorings, St Anthony's and Shiva Boys battled to a 2-2 draw. Shiva Boys were out the gate early as Quinn Rodney gave the visitors the lead in the fifth minute, before Tyrell Baptiste doubled Shiva's advantage in the seventh minute. St Anthony's responded quickly as Tyrese Bailey found the back of the net in the 11th minute. The scoring did not end there as N'Kosi Salandy found the equaliser for St Anthony's in the 43rd minute as the teams were locked 2-2 at halftime. The goals dried up in the second half as the game ended 2-2. St Anthony's dropped from second to third, while Shiva Boys remain in fifth position on the standings.

In a southern battle between St Benedict's College and Fyzabad Secondary, the former got their second win of the season with a 2-0 victory. The goals flowed at the Carapichaima East ground, as Carapichiama East Secondary and San Juan North played to a 3-3 draw. At St Mary's College Ground, St Mary's defeated Speyside High 6-0.

Two matches were postponed because of waterlogged fields. The St Augustine Secondary-Trinity College Moka contest at St Augustine and the Trinity Collge East-Fatima College match were both called off.
