Fake PH drivers held for robbing pensioners

Two cousins from Embacadere in San Fernando who pretended to be “PH drivers” and robbed elderly passengers are expected to be charged with several counts of robbery.

The two were arrested after months of surveillance by Southern Division police.

According to police reports, several elderly persons reported to police that they were picked up by the men after cashing their pension cheques at the banks.

They said the men were friendly towards them and offered to take them home. Instead they were taken to the back of a funeral home in San Fernando where they were robbed of their valuables and cash and abandoned at the scene. The men are expected to appear in the San Fernando Magistrate’s court.
