Dunross continue dominance in Primary Schools football

Champions Dunross Preparatory 'A' powered to a 3-1 triumph over Carenage Boys Government in their Port of Spain Primary Schools Football League West Zone Under-12 match at the Hasely Crawford Stadium Training Field, Mucurapo yesterday.

Watched by a large crowd of schoolmates and parents, Logan Maingot put the champions ahead after seven minutes, and they held this lead into the half-time interval.

But the Carenage boys knotted up the scores on the resumption when Akil Henry netted.

Dunross re-grouped after this equaliser, and were back into the lead on a goal by Saul Rojas before Maingot got his second goal to seal the victory for the Westmoorings giants.

The Dunross' girls, however, were held to a 2-2 draw by St Barb's Government in their Under-15 clash.

Jordane Dookie and Sydney Harragin netted the Dunross goals, while Jamelia Vanderpool and Karisma Robertson scored for St Barb's.

Meanwhile, Richmond Street Boys Anglican continued their unbeaten run in the Central Zone Under-12 group with a 4-2 victory over St Monica's Private School.

Isaiah Thomas netted a double, for the winners while A Thompson got one and an own-goal completed the scoring.

Both St Monica’s goals were scored by Josiah Cneel.

Earlier yesterday, Sacred Heart Boys RC edged Mucurapo Boys RC 1-0 with a goal by Jediah King.

But Rosary Boys RC and St Crispin’s AC played out a goalless draw.

And Newtown Boys shut out St Agnes AC 4-0.
