Ajada Wankin representing San Fernando Girls’ Government Primary School is the winner of the National Primary School Diabetes Quiz 2017. The quiz was hosted by the Diabetes Association of Trinidad and Tobago (DATT) and sponsored by SuperPharm.
The finals held on Friday at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya, saw 15 finalists from seven schools compete for the grand prize of a 2017 iPad 32GB, certificate of participation, DATT trophy and challenge trophy.
“I put all my effort into this. I thank my mom because I could not make it without her and the help of my teachers,” said 10-year-old Wankin after accepting her award. The standard four student aspires to become an actress.
The runner-up to Wankin was Joshua Cummins from Arima Boys’ RC School.
DATT in partnership with SuperPharm will also be giving $3000 to the school with the most participants in the overall competition.
