Cops view footage of bank burglary

Officers from the Police Cyber Crime Unit yesterday secured civilian footage from the Montrose branch of FCB which was the scene of a $3.5 million burglary on Sunday.

Officers are expected to view the footage in the hope that it can assist them in identifying the burglars. Employees of the bank including senior managers are expected to be interviewed today. The investigation is being led by ACP Irwin Hackshaw and Ag Snr Supt Ajith Persad.

The burglary was only discovered at 9 am on Sunday when bank officials received a call that there was a gaping hole at the eastern side of the bank. When they visited the bank, officials saw the hole and on checking, found one of the vaults cut open and the cash missing.
