Man chopped by relatives

A 55-year-old man is now warded at hospital after he was chopped by a male relative. According to police sources, Kenrick Hunte, 55, of Valencia Drive in Five Rivers was chopped by a relative after an argument broke out between the two.

At about 11.30 am last Friday, the two were seen arguing at Hunte's home, when the male relative drew a cutlass and dealt Hunte several chops about the body. Hunte was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt. Hope, where he underwent emergency surgery. Hunte, police sources said, remains warded in serious condition.

The male relative, who sources revealed is a mental patients, was held by police and the bloodstained weapon was seized.

Investigations are ongoing.
