Happy hunting for turfites at Santa Rosa Park

It was a day of happy hunting for turfites at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, yesterday on Race Day 28.

There were a number of surprise winners on the day’s eight-race programme.

First, All Is Yours scored to reward backers with $8.25 and $1.95 on the tote, then Actus Reus won to pay a dividend of $6.95 and $32.25.

This was followed by The Heat Is On winning to pay $6.90 and $1.90 and more was to come in the featurel race won by Reggae Rhythm for a dividend of $9.05 and %2.00.

And the day’s finale was won by Whole Lotta Love which gave backers $7.80 and $3.00 on the tote.

But no turfite managed to spot either of the two Hi5 races, so there will be a carry over of $53,210.40 on Republic Day holiday, September 25.

Veteran rider Ricardo Jadoo was the leading jockey of the day landing two winners while Lester Alexis saddled two winners to be top of his peers.

Champion owner Shivam Maharaj saw two of his runners pass the post first.
