Soldier shot dead in Moruga

A soldier is dead following a shooting in Moruga last night while another soldier was wounded. According to reports, police responded to a shooting at Dougla City, St Mary's Main Road at about 11.15 pm. When they arrived they saw Cpl Marcus Gay of the TT Regiment in an open area with gunshot wounds about the body. They also saw Cpl Blunt with gunshot wounds to his leg. They also observed four others with gunshot wounds. All six were taken to the Princes Town District Health Facility where Gay was pronounced dead on arrival. The other five victims were transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
