Police said Subero was liming at Waterloo Road, Carapichaima where he had a heated argument with a man he knew. The man became enraged and stabbed Subero, of Penal Rock Road in Penal, several times. Subero was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility where he died.

Members of the Freeport Police Station and Homicide Bureau (Region III) visited the scene and detained the suspect. Subero was studying Sports Management at the University of Trinidad and Tobago.
