Two Touch take out frustration on Oropouche

Two Touch finally got off the mark after nine attempts as action continued in the Caribbean Welders Fishing Pond Football League at the North Oropouche Recreation Ground on Tuesday.

Led by a double from their captain Rellone Serrette, Two Touch picked up their first points of the season with a resounding 5-1 victory featuring the basement teams in the league.

Serrette got the ball rolling early, smashing in a right-footer after collecting the ball on top the box after a poor clearance from the North Oropouche defence.

But in a familiar scenario, Two Touch began overcommitting numbers in attack and were found thin at the back on a counter with North Oropouche finding the equaliser before the half.

In the second half, however, Avery Edwards put Two Touch ahead again, receiving a defence-splitting pass and curling the ball into the far post.

It was 3-1 within a few minutes as the floodgates opened. Serrette made it 4-1, attacking the penalty area to get onto a cross from the wing to steer it into the back of the net and under the diving goalie.

Kareem Lewis rounded out the scoring, trapping a ball from the right and lashing it past the despairing ‘keeper to bring some joy to their season.

Deespite the victory, Two Touch stay cemented to the bottom of the standings.

In a doubleheader on Thursday, Dream Team edged Gremio 3-2 while Boys Town moved top of the league with a 3-0 rout of North Oropouche who fell to back-to-back defeats.
