Police seize 3.6kg of marijuana

Officers of the South Western Division Task Force seized 3.6 kilogrammes of marijuana on Monday during an anti-crime exercise in Morgua.

The TTPS in a release said the officers conducted the exercise at about 5.30 pm. Before searching a house at Edwards Trace, Moruga, police say a male occupant fled the premises and ran off into nearby bushes. In their search they found the marijuana in a black plastic bag which had an estimated street value of $360,000. A warrant is expected to be issued for the arrest of the suspect for possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
