Kamla off to New York

OPPOSITION Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar will be in New York this weekend to speak two events. A release from the United National Congress (UNC) said Persad-Bissessar will deliver the feature address at a fundraiser event in Queens today.

On Sunday (tomorrow), Persad-Bissessar will be the keynote speaker at the organization’s 5th Annual TT Independence & Diaspora Family Day at Smokey Park, Richmond Hill, New York. Both events have been organised by TT nationals resident in New York. At both events, Persad-Bissessar is expected to give an overview of TT's current situation and outline some of the UNC's proposals to take the country forward. Persad-Bissessar, who is also UNC political leader, thanked the organisers of both events in promoting TT abroad.
