'Bad Eye' charged for murder

A Port of Spain man and a Laventille teenager appeared before a Port of Spain Magistrate yesterday charged with the murders of Trevvon Wilson and Tiba Thomas earlier this month. Miguel McClean aka 'One Eye, Bad Eye' and his 17-year-old accomplice appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Maria Busby Earle-Caddle in the Port of Spain Magistrate's Eighth Court charged with the murders. The charges were read aloud by Earle-Caddle and the men were not called upon to enter a plea.

Both accused have been remanded into custody and have been denied bail. According to reports Wilson, 21, of Gonzales in Belmont was pulled from his home in the wee hours of the morning on August, 8, and taken to the home of Thomas where he was forced to lure him out of his home. Gunmen subsequently shot and killed both men before fleeing the scene.

Both men were charged by Sgt Roger Reyes of the Homicide Bureau Region 1 on Sunday after instructions were received from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard.
