Nephews of alleged gang leader arrested

North Eastern Division Police nabbed the nephews of an alleged North Coast gang leader, during a raid at Las Cuevas and Maracas Bay between 3.30pm and 7pm on Thursday.

Police said one of the men, aged 30, was caught with a gun and ammunition while the other, aged 29, was held with 542 grammes of marijuana.

The raid was led by Sgt Sterlyn Taylor and Cpl Shiraz Ali of the Coastal Patrol Unit. Both men are expected to be charged over the weekend after which they will appear before a Port of Spain magistrate next week.
