Man charged with murder

The man captured in a viral video stomping a man which eventually led to his death appeared before a Tunapuna Magistrate on Monday charged with his murder.

Kareem Richardson, 20, of Beetham Gardens, Port-of-Spain Spain, also faced charges of possession of firearm and ammunition, when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Indrani Cedeno in the Tunapuna 1st Magistrates’ Court.

The matter was adjourned to August 14.

The victim, Akino Thomas, was at Pentecostal Road, Tunapuna on July 27 when he was shot at by two armed men. He was hit in the thigh and fell into a drain, as a result of the injury. He was taken to hospital but died the next day.
