FORMER parliamentarian Joseph Toney will tomorrow give evidence ‘in camera’ (private) before the Commission of Enquiry, set up to look into events surrounding the July 27, 1990, attempted coup.

Toney in previous testimony during the first session of the enquiry had indicated that there was sensitive information relating to national security that he did not want to give in open court.

This session will be held at the commission’s secretariat at the Telly Paul Building, St Vincent Street, Port-of-Spain, as Courtroom 1, where the enquiry is being held will not be available today. Tomorrow’s in camera hearing is not open to the public.

The enquiry resumes tomorrow when former St Augustine MP John Humphrey will continue his testimony. Also expected to testify is a member of the Islamic. On Friday, when veteran broadcaster and journalist Jones P Madeira will also give evidence before the enquiry, so too, former parliamentarian Trevor Sudama.
